DKNY'S Infinity Dress

I am so fascinated by Donna Karan's The Infinity Dress which is currently being retailed at Neiman Marcus for a whooping $895. If it weren't for the hefty price tag, I'd have said that this would be a perfect addition to my LBD collection. Nonetheless, I lurrve the stylish ways that the simple black dress can be converted into.
It also comes in Red and Ink!

I Need To De-Stress.

Lately, I've had stressors left and right, and if that's not enough they still come up from behind me as if to surprise me! As in, parang silang linta at ayaw nila ako lubayan. I just want a quiet life, at times it seems to me that it's too much to ask. What's worse is there will always be people who think they know you oh-too-well that they judge your actions without asking themselves what they would you if they were put in your shoes.

Sa totoo lang, if I didn't have kids, I'd buy myself a one way ticket to NOWHERE and stay there. Just to get my peace and quiet.

As my father-in-law wisely reminded me, "You Can't Please Everyone." I told him that I don't even bother trying because ever since I can remember, the only person I ever try to please is myself. He told me that I could spend 100 years of my life sleeping and STILL be talked about and JUDGED, because people will always find something to talk about. It's just a matter of how I handle these stressors. He's right.

What better way is there to make myself feel better than to shop?!? BUT I've officially given up credit cards with my new motto, which is: Buy only what you can pay for in cash, if you can't pay for it in cash then it means you can't afford it! Hah! I'm sure this will make my husband's day once he reads this! LOL.

Since we don't have HnM and F21 locally, and there's NO decent place to shop here in Zamboanga, I have no other choice but to window shop (online)! :(

Here's what I'd buy if I had my credit card handy with me. *evil laugh

Tops
Dresses
Skirts

Jumpsuit

Vests

Jackets

Jeans

Headbands

Turban, even!
Sigh! I guess it's a good thing it's taking BPI more than two friggin' months to process my change of name!

I Want.. Right Now.

I never thought I could rock fishnet stockings but ever since I wore them to Jenny's bridal shower, I couldn't get stockings off my mind!

Bright colored plain stockings are not really my thing, but printed ones, I like!!!! I tried buying the printed KT legwear sometime ago but I don't really get lucky with the stocks that are left for purchase.

Me likey these from f21.

At $6.80, definitely much cheaper than Topshop's! But who can send them to me?!? :(

Chace's Baptism Last September.

Such a delayed post, but last September we baptized Carlos Chace as per my father-in-law's request.
It was a very small affair. Just us, our parents, and the ninong- Tabby and ninang-Angel.
Our family picture for the day.
Kuya Kaden.

Congratulations Marvin & Jenny!

Last Sunday, Kaden, his yaya, and I flew to Manila for Jenny's wedding. Jen's the third one in our childhood barkada of 8 to get married, and we're all very excited! Especially me! Planning stage palang, I'm there na! As in all out support! D ba, Jen? :)

Tuesday morning, we were off to Sofitel Hotel for the preps.
Jen's gown and entourage gowns were by Kristel Yulo
Marvin's perfect-fit suit was from Ck and his breathtaking shoes were Prada.
Jen was transformed into a blushing bride by Cherry Pacheco-Uy.
The entourage was made up by Anna & Vida.
Flowers by Teddy Manuel.
Their official photographer is Nelwin Uy. I just took few shots because I know it takes a while before the official photos are released. Nelwin did a great job, I loved their same-day slideshow. I can't wait till the pics are posted. I'm sure they're all so beautiful.
They exchanged vows in the beautiful San Agustin Church in Intramuros.
Her bridal car was a vintage Jaguar Mark V.
Reception followed at the Blue Leaf Pavilion, Fort.
Their very yummy all edible wedding cake was by Alex Franco.
We super enjoyed their PartyPics booth. :)
Before we went home we did some funny but fun camwhoring.
Oh, did I mention that my boy was so cute that day?
Congratulations again, Marvin and Jen! Enjoy married life!

Check out their wedsite.

Sigh! I love weddings! I can't wait for Aaron & Angela's this coming March!

My baby boy Carlos Chace is growing so fast. A few days before he turned 6 months, he pulled himself up in his crib! Now just a few days short of turning 7 months, he is starting to walk sideways around his crib! and he is able to stand with only one hand holding on to something, even if it's just a wall! I'm so amazed. :) His pediatrician said his motor skills are very advanced and by the time he turns 8 months, he will be able to walk on his own. How exciting! :)
If there's anyone Chace really really adores, its none other than his Kuya Kaden!
Watch my happy baby! He's always always smiling wherever he goes, whoever he is looking at. I took these videos of him a week after he turned 6 months old.

Here's another video of him playing.

Kaden's First Purchase

One of the things I want to teach Kaden is the value of money. I've been giving him a weekly allowance of 20php and he has been saving up and keeping his "monies" (as he calls it) in his Diego wallet. So for this trip I brought him to Toy Kingdom to pick his toy.

He had a difficult time choosing one toy within his budget.
But he was finally able to pick the Thomas train he wants for his growing collection, and paid for it himself. :)
So now, Kaden has to start saving again because he's back to square one, which is an empty wallet. Heheh!
He picked Emily.

I was so proud because he didn't even ask me to buy him more than one train even though I know he wanted them. Buti nalang his Uncle Rj bought him Lady the next day. So he's going home to Zamboanga with two new trains. Thanks Uncle Rj! :)

Jen's Bridal Shower!!

Cake by KinkCakes.
Balloons by Trust.
Finger foods prepared by Hazel.
Attendees.
The lady of the night, Jenny.
Was the cake any good? Let's ask Jenny.
We had games, but I wasn't able to properly document all of them because we were all too busy laughing that taking photos became the least of our priorities (for a while).
We had to blindfold Jen for the highlight of the night. LOL.
Stripper alert?!?
Are you liking it so far, Jen?
Since Jen had a tendency to run away from the pizza delivery boy, we decided to tie her into the chair.
If I post what happened next, they might mark my blog as "with adult content". Pero sige na nga, here's a preview. :p Oh, by the way if you're wondering, oo totoo yan.
Before we ended the night we gave some words of wisdom to the bride-to-be.
Words of wisdom from a married woman by Hazel Ancheta, Jen's wedding coordinator:
"Stay away from the in-laws. The reason why God made four Sundays in a month, so you can spend the first Sunday with your in-laws, the second Sunday with your side of the family, the third Sunday with your husband and kids, and the fourth Sunday for yourself.

Group Picture! :)
Jenny's Gifts!
Our Tropi barkada reunion! :) It was a rare moment for our barkada to be "almost" complete. I go a loooong way back with these girls. They have been my barkada since elementary, some of them since Kindergarten even.
Hope you had fun, Jen! Because we surely did! Love yah!

Jenny's Here!

This month is really special for my childhood barkada, Jenny, because it's her wedding month!! :) Jenny is only the third in our barkada of 8 to tie the knot and we're all super excited!
Vin & Jenny's prenup by Nelwin Uy

Thank you Ninang for your pasalubong(s) for Kaden & Chace!
Thanks also for mommy's Aldo sunglasses and f21 necklace! So sweet! Aylaveet! :)

This month is just as special to our other childhood barkada, Ling, who received her wedding proposal on her birthday! :) Weeeh. Congratulations Ling!
Other pictures when Jenny was in Zamboanga for a day. :p

Bonding

Such a late post, but I was so happy I got to have dinner with my college buddies Dyan, Kim, and Carla sometime last month. At Lorenzo's Way in Gb5.

I can't remember the last time I saw Kim and Carla, but I see Dyan almost every month. :)
After dinner we went "window shopping".
I fell in love with these Balmain inspired flats at Aldo. Sigh!
So much has changed since college! Kimmie and I are now married, and both Carla and Dyan are "preparing" for their upcoming special day which excites me so much. Btw, Ij congratulations on your engagement! I can't wait and I'll surely be there! Majority of my friends are all ready to settle down, sunod sunod ang weddings! I guess we really are in the marrying age now. Tsk! Getting old.
I miss you girls! Looking forward to our next lakad! Be it dinner or a beach trip, I'm there! :)

I Have A New Crush

I'm so jologs, I know. But I have a confession to make. I have a new crush. :)

Since I've moved and we have no internet, these days I have found myself glued to the television. Watching what else but teleseryes. :)

LOL. :) Enchong Dee!!!!!!!!!!! Hahaha!

R.A.F.

Sometime August when I was looking for something to wear to the kids' party, I accidentally walked into R.A.F. by Plains & Prints in Megamall, and me likey what I saw! I read somewhere that R.A.F. stands for "Rich And Famous", because this is Plains & Prints' high-end line. True kaya?
They started the R.A.F. line sometime in '07 but now they have their own branch that carries the R.A.F. by Plains & Prints line exclusively. They feature different Filipino designers for their collection from time to time. They collaborated with the likes of:

Celine Lopez: Rajo Laurel:
Randy Ortiz:
Among many others.

I tried some of their dresses on.
This one reminds me of the Herve Ledger bandage dress. And this one,
Reminds me of Fendi's Kester dress.
Hmm... points for originality?

I wasn't able to take more pictures but I really liked many of their dresses although I found them to be a bit expensive because I wore my kuripot pocket at that time. Both dresses above are being retailed for not less than 3,000php. So maybe next time. :)

The skirt I wore to the kids' party is from R.A.F. though. I bought it without thinking of where or when I was going to use it. I just really liked it when I saw it. I didn't expect I'd gain weight and that the outfit I was intending to wear for the party would become tooooo tight on the day itself, so I had to find a last minute outfit ASAP and the skirt saved me.
Wala lang, just wanted to share. I really likey R.A.F. It's now a new addition to my favorite local stores. :)

Praying for Ondoy's [Ketsana] victims and for the Filipino people.

For the 250 (and counting) people who lost their lives, for the people who lost lives of their loved ones, for those who are still in search for their loved ones, for the 500,000 families displaced from their homes, for those who are struggling to get back to their feet, for those who are helping in the rebuilding and rehabilitation of the communities, for all the Juans who stepped up and became heroes.

My heart was breaking as I watched the coverage of the typhoon. My boy Kaden watched with me as I followed the news, and he was asking me questions about the flood. He asked me why the people did not build an Ark to save them from the flood just like Noah did in the story of Noah's Ark. Yes, my boy is smart like that. But more than that, he also has a big heart. I didn't realize that he was also affected by what he saw until it was time for him to say his prayers before going to sleep. Without me telling him to, he asked the Lord to bless all the people who "died and lost their houses", he prayed for "the hard rain to stop in Manila" and for it "not to flood in Zamboanga".

Ondoy took the Philippines by storm, and it seems to me that it was all it took to make us Filipinos realize that we are very blessed to be part of a nation of everyday heroes.
Typhoon Peping is coming in a few hours. I pray for everyone's safety.
